Audio fluctuations on channel 513 NBC

On channel 513 NBC,  beginning 4-5 days ago, I noticed intermittently the sound makes a light snapping sound then reduces volume quickly then begins to gradually increase in volume back to the desired setting.
A call to tech support did not resolve issue.   Just the usual unplug cables and plug them back in.
Help please.

Thanks for the link.  I sent an email.  Additionally, I sent a request to our local NBC affiliate, and they are telling me that they are aware of the issue and are working on it.

I wish they would have made a general announcement about this or at least notify the cable companies.

If it only affects one channel then it is most likely a transmission problem from that provider. If it affects several channels, the problem is local.

That’s what I am thinking.  Line tests remotely do not detect a problem.   Tech visiting tomorrow.
No one else has this issue?

I have the same problem with Ch 513 but I don't have the popping sound like you, I have low volume due to loosing my center channel on my soundbar system just with that channel all other channels are fine. If were watching a program I will tune to CBS channel in DC just to get good sound. I emailed them and reported it but to no fix. Please report back if your tech finds something.

Tech swapped out STB and all minis and HDMI cables.  I removed sound bar and optical cable.  Reset boxes.  Sound loss still there.  Tech says ONT and cables all good.  Says TV could be the issue, but another TV does the same thing.

Maybe it will fix itself?

It is possible that for some reason your center channel is either set to a lower volume or is missing. Since 80% of the sound usually comes from the center channel that would explain the lower levels. If you are using an AVR try enabling Phantom center channel and see what happens.

No AVR, just sound bar plugged directly to TV.  Interestingly I did a sound reset on the Samsung TV and so far so good.

So after a sound reset on my Samsung TV, the volume level now shows 35-40 when before, I would set at about 15 to get the same volume level.   Still a crackling sound intermittently, but no volume loss.  Only on Channel 513 NBC.  I plugged in another TV to main STB and same issue.  Tech suspected a faulty TV sound issue, but that apparently is not the issue.

Can I get some more support from Verizon on this?  Or do I need to do battle with the Verizon telephone tree again.
