Cablecard compatibility with Fios TV+

I renewed my Verizon bundle and received the new router, 1 setup box and a DVR device. I currently have two TiVo devices and they also sent two new cable cards.
After several hours trying to activate the new cable cards, they told me that cable cards are not supported with Fios TV+ packages.
I’ve had gig service for several years and my ONT is older, so while I understand the theory I’m not sure it makes a ton of sense.
I can’t find any documentation discussing this. One would also assume they wouldn’t send me equipment that wasn’t compatible (LOL).
Is this accurate and Cablecard cannot be used or haven’t found the right tech to pair them properly?

I logged into different  computers and the phone and wasn’t able to get the Cablecard activation link to resolve. Kept returning my to the main account page.
I had to call the number to try and get them to pair it. Two calls yesterday were unable to pair and the most recent one told me they might be incompatible with cable cards.

I'll run it past a support person I know to see if they are compatible.

I suggested this as the Fios TV+ which is the streaming portion, or at least I think. They told me it’s not compatible with the More Fios TV package in my order. Not clear if that is a distinction or the two are linked but wanted to clarify what Inwas told

This is the reply I got from support:

Cablecards and DCT700s are not allowed in FiosTV+ homes. They cannot work in VIP (video over IP) homes on NGPON2 or VIP on GPON homes. They will eventually be shutdown on all systems.

Appreciate the check on this. Not what I was hoping to hear. Probably need to send this new equipment back and figure out what I want to do going forward until they update my current ONT.

Hi Clem21,

I just moved with my Tivo Edge in tow to a house that already has Fios Internet. I added Fios TV+ to the account and to my shock, I was told, as you  pointed out in your reply to DPtindc, that Verizon is no longer offering Cable Cards. This is a major disappointment since I find Tivo to be a better system than even this latest version of the Android-driven Fios.  Is my Tivo now just a brick? Do I have any recourse here maybe by changing equipment?

I currently have coax going from the ONT into a splitter to the Video Media Server and the Router.

Thanks in advance for your time.
