Closed Captioning new font

UtopiaBuffalo1

just got the new set top boxes from Verizon Fios.  My previous set top boxes  Closed Captioning was readable.  Now the new ones are very hard to read.  Don't know why they changed the font but being hard of hearing, its nearly impossible and frustrating to read what is being said.  What was the name of the previous font on the old set top boxes and can you Verizon switch to the old font?  No point in watching TV if i can't tell what they are saying?  please help
