We had a power outage yesterday and cannot get the Main Fios DVR box to work. It alternates blinking red/green with a whitish blinking. Is this box dead an needing replacement or can something be done to save series/dvr recordings?

Here is the link to a topic that mentions the problem. Port forwarding is used to update the VMS.
One thing I just thought of. Verizon includes a router with some Internet offerings. Others use the router to register the STB, but then switch to third party routers but keep the Verizon router on hand for troubleshooting and similar tasks.

This worked. Shut down 3rd party router. Move Coaxial from Moca Adapter to Verizon router. Move WAN connection from 3rd party to Verizon WAN port. Power up. Was able to get the new box setup and reverse back. Thanks for the help

The last thing to keep an eye on is to make sure that the viewing guide is updating properly. If it doesn't, swap the routers again until it does. Somewhere is a topic about a 3rd party router workaround. 🤔

Try unplugging the unit for five or so minutes and then power it back up again. See if that works. If not, contact Verizon Repair as the STB may need to be replaced.

Had to replace the box after troubleshooting with tech support. However the VMS4100 does not like my 3rd party router and cannot be setup

The 4100 can be used with third party routers, however, the router will require custom programming to establish the required connection so the STB can receive updates and undergo various administrative functions.
Verizon's own routers automatically establish this connection. 🙂

So how do I do that? I am currently DOA with no television. And my network is far too extensive to pull it out. Please advise

To further this: The prior box (not sure the model #) worked perfectly on my network with no extensive programming on my router. All that is required is a Moca box connected to the network for all the boxes to work and to get updates. Why would that not be the case with the 4100?
