Fios TV Issues

I am having issues with several Fios boxes connected to our living room TV. For years we had a Fios DVR box connected here but a couple weeks ago started having issues where the picture and sound would not come up when turning the TV on. After extensive troubleshooting with several techs via chat and phone, resetting the box and the FIOS router, they concluded that the DVR box needed to be replaced. Upon connecting the new DVR box the issues persisted.

A tech then suggested switching the DVR with a One Mini box in another room. Once I did that I had a new issue in the living room. When I turned the TV on I would get a green screen with no sound. The DVR now in another room has no issues I experienced when hooked up in the living room.

Next I switched out the HDMI cable 3 times but the green screen persisted. Then I tried all 4 DHMI ports on the TV with the same results.

In every scenario I have to reboot the Fios box to get picture and sound.

As far as I see it I have ruled out Fios boxes and HDMI cables. The WiFi connection is good according to the Fios system info screen on the One Mini box.

One thought is the TV is having HDMI issues, but I have a DVD player and an AppleTV hooked up to it and have no issues with either of them.

Anyone have any suggestions on what else to check?

Thank you for the response.

I am subscribed to the newer FIOS streaming service in the DC/NOVA area.

I had the DRV hooked up via coax in the living room of course and the screen would be black when turning on the TV.

With the One mini in the Living  room I have tried both Coax and WiFi. With the Coax the screen would be black when turning the TV on. With WiFi the screen is green when turned on.  For comparison, we have 2 other One minis in other rooms connected via WiFi and have no issues with them.

The One mini boxes have coax ports on them so no adapter is needed.

Also, the left light on the mini is steady orange and the right one is steady green. I have read several different explanations of this combination and ultimately don't know if it is of any importance.

I would check the splitters in the system and replace them. Fios should be able to provide you new ones. Usually an orange light means the box is not connected to the internet and a green one means a firmware update is in progress.

Are you subscribed to a legacy Fios television service such as "More Fios TV" or are you subscribed to the newer Fios+ service (which mimics a streaming service.)?

Use of a hardwired connection for television service is preferred to WiFi.

For Fios+ mini boxes, a MoCA adapter can be used to connect to a coaxial cable.

For legacy hardware, the mini STBs can connect using coaxial cable and even Ethernet cable.
