Fios TV plus not handshaking with TV and AVR

This STB is giving me terrible issues with my LG C1.  Some genius engineer decided  to turn on Dolby Vision for everything and leave no way of turning it off for SDR content.  I connected the STB directly to the TV and disabled DV on the TV’s hdmi input to get around this idiocy . This is causing me to have to use ARC to my Denon AVR to get audio. Most of the time it works but at least 3 to 5 times a week it will give no picture and sound and the STB blinks red until I reboot the STB. Never had these issues with my Motorola STB. When are they going to let me turn off the Dolby Vision so I can connect the STB to my AVR again and stop this  handshake issue? It’s  so annoying. The option is there to disable DV but it does  not do anything. This is really the stupidest thing to have DV enabled for SDR content making everything dark. What were they thinking???

Thanks.  I am aware there will be an update but it’s been a while since they said that. The STB has the latest firmware I checked before I posted. The bugs should have been worked out before this was forced on us.

This came up a while ago and support said it would be addressed in a firmware update to the boxes. Have you checked to see if your boxes are on the latest FW version? If so the fix may still be coming.

Just remember, the Motorola boxes weren't 4K capable, let alone HDR capable. The bad handshake is because the box checks the capabilities of the connected devices on a regular interval and if it detects 4K HDR capable devices it tries to send that to them. I'm assuming you have the Fios+ stream boxes, so you should look in the Android settings to see if you can tell the box to use 1080P SDR instead of 4K HDR. Not sure if that option exixts. Also post her and register you r issue:

Also can you set the input on the Denon Receiver the Fios box is using to 1080 in the video settings and disable enhanced video there? I know you have that option on mine. Again I assume you are feeding the TV with the video out of the receiver.
