Fios remote and Insignia FireTV

Yesterday I had new Fios One router and STB's installed. After the Tech left, I noted that one of the new voice remotes could not change the TV's inputs when the "Input" button on the remote was pressed.

I removed/re-paired the remote and tried using the specific model number of the TV. I tried this several times and even tried by pairing the second remote (for downstairs TV which works fine) to determine is the button was bad. Still no joy.

I was on a chat session yesterday and the tech is sending a new remote, but I don't think this will help.

Have any others seen this issue with an Insignia FireTV and the Fios One voice remote? Any ideas as to how I can get this addressed and/or resolved. It seems to be a programming bug/oversight in the remote's coding.

Problem resolved. Worked with tech on phone. Cleared remote programming and using the new remote, paired device and kept getting an error when selecting Insignia FireTV a few times. Manually selected just "plain" Insignia and input button worked!

I thought I had tried that with the old remote as well as the other 2 Insignia selections and none worked.

Anyway... it now works. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

You could try the manual search pairing method and see if that helps.

Already performed a few times without success.

To be clear... remotes pair just fine. Volume, mute and power are fine as well. It's only the "input" button on either remote that does not function with the Insignia FireTV.

Might just be an issue with the code for the remote not being programmed for input switching for you r TV if everything else works. Just for the heck of it try using codes for Samsung and see what happens.

I'm pretty certain that "someone" has overlooked the proper IR/BT code for that model TV' input switching. It worked fine with my old P265 remote.

I'll try using Samsung during remote setup. If that doesn't work, I'll try Toshiba and LG also. A Google search showed that they may also manufacture Insignia TV's.

Well, I tried every "Brand" TV available and none worked. Also tried select Insignia, Insignia-FireTV and Insignia-Roku to no avail.

New remote expected today. If that doesn't work, this will need to be escalated to a Tech Team.

Any more suggestions?

Just received the new remote and paired to the minibox. The input button STILL does not work.

Someone needs to look at the IR/BT remote codes for this Insignia FireTV.

I guess I will try calling support tomorrow.
