How much loss in DB can the IP TV boxes take. I have a number of 1675 Mhz. splitters in my attic but I don't know the coax output level from the ONT to calculate what I need at each box.

I'm not aware of that specification being made available to us in the general public.
A knowledgeable technician (non Verizon employee) once suggested using a starting figure of +10db to do calculations and a floor of around -10db for acceptable performance. But again, this technician is not a Verizon employee and has never worked for the company. He ran his own Interconnect business for decades before retiring a few years ago.
In general, a properly done residential installation would fall well within the operating parameters of the equipment supplied by Verizon. Daisy-chaining low tap count splitters or utilizing a single high tap count splitter will add approximately the same attenuation to the infrastructure. ๐
