Music Channel App always loads, Cannot Disble

We have enjoyed Fios for many years.  Recently we received and installed the new FIOS STB.  Now whenever we choose a Music Channel, it starts playing the current song. However, then the box starts loading a Widget/App for the same channel and starts playing a different song!    Once inside the Widget/App, the channel Up/Down buttons no longer work.  Even typing in channel numbers does NOT do anything,   We need to press EXIT on the Verizon remote, which then  returns to that channel and restores the up/down functionality.   But we have to do this every time we switch to a Music Channel, over-and-over again.   This is incredibly annoying when switching through the Music Channels.   It only happens on the Music Channels.

For example, if I enter 1844 for the Blues channel, it loads and then plays the current song. But then it starts to load a different song with a different display for the same channel, 1847.   And now the channel buttons no longer work, because we are in the MC App.    We need to press EXIT on the remote, to return to the original screen and remote functions.

I have not found any way to delete or disable the MC Widget/App.   Please find a way to disable or remove the MC Widget/App.

I'll run this past tech and see if they have a fix.

Finally got this back from suppppport:

That is "as expected". Music Choice wants their app to come up when tuning to their linear channels, if the box can support their app. When that app launches, the only way out is to hit Exit.

I have the same problem. I don't care if MC wants to load their app. I want to turn it off. I'm paying, not them. FIX IT NOW!

The app is very annoying. I don't understand why it exists.

I find it hard to believe that any Verizon employees use the Music Choice channels themselves and find this newer behavior acceptable. It is absolutely maddening how terrible the experience is now. I'm not asking, Verizon, I'm BEGGING you to please fix this behavior. It is a terrible user experience.
