Hi,
Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
I just got Verizon Fios TV. I've had internet and landline for years. They sent me a central box, a VMS, that I hooked up to my G3100 router with ethernet, no problem. The little boxes say Verizon TV+ on them and seem to be glorified Apple TV boxes. I can't seem to find a model number on them anywhere so I don't know what to call them. Any help with the correct vernacular would be appreciated.
Anyway, I set up the first one, no problem. It connected to a network that seems to come directly from the VMS, as it's a name I don't recognize at all. The other two, in my den and bedroom on the other side of the house, can't connect to the internet. When they failed to connect to the network the first one did, I told them to connect to my regular wifi which runs through the router and is boosted by an Apple AirPort Extreme I've had for years. All my other devices (phones, tablets, computers, Apple TVs) connect to it no problem. The Fios TV+ boxes say they connect to it but there's no internet connection, but I'm using it to type this right now, so I know the internet is working fine. The tv box gets full signal according to its menu screen. Heck, the one I have my den is sitting 6 ft from the booster. So, the menu says I can hook it up using ethernet. I'd love to do that, in fact it would be my preference, but there's nothing but a USB port and the power and hdmi connections. So, can I use one of those USB to ethernet dongles to connect it, or am I missing something here?
Joe
