Why did I get a media server ?

Hello,

I received the replacement set top boxes and router but I also received a media server box

We did not have a media server box so not sure why this was sent Is it going to be an extra charge for this ?

Is this required for the new set top boxes to work ?

if It's not required should we send it back with the old set top boxes ?
