In addition to new set top boxes I received a video media server. I did not have one before.
Am I going to be charged for this?
Is this required for the new set top boxes to work.
If it is not required will you come and get it or should I just keep it (and not pay anything).
Please do not respond to me via private email.
Please answer on here so others can see.

I subscribe to Fios One television (legacy cable television service).
When using the 4100 series STBs, a VMS is required because it contains the all of the tuners that the optional DVR service and any mini STBs need to function.
I do not subscribe to the DVR service (I have an old Panasonic DVD recorder) so despite having the VMS unit, I am not charged extra.
I don't know Fios+ service well enough to comment on the required hardware. 🤔

Which boxes do you have? The Fios One 4100 boxes or the newer Fios+ boxes ? If the VMS box you received says VMS4100ATV on it it is for the newer Fios+ system, not the older Fios One 4100 series system.

Thanks. Verizon’s instructions are worthless. Glad someone knew. Now I’ll check my bill to make sure they aren’t charging me for this. Thanks again.
