So anyone else get a Email saying their device didn't qualify for the Promo when it should have?
I just got that so I called the Rebate Support Center and the guy reviewed my submission and said that I did qualify. So he resubmitted it for review and said I should know by Friday. Hopefully the 2nd time is the charm.
Not sure why the first attempt failed. I preordered the PixelXL on Oct 4th within a hour after the MadeByGoogle Event ended. It was so soon that the local Verizon didn't even have the cost inputted into their the system yet for me to pay the down payment, but they werre able to place the order and it did show up in My Account saying so on the 4th. Then I went in on the 6th and paid the $74 or so for the down payment or what ever they call it and also the activation fee. This way when I went back I didn't have to pay anything, just pick it up and activate it. Which I did on the 20th as mine came in on the 2oth of October.
Anyways I for certain qualified for the DayDream View Promotion. I just hope whoever reviews my Receipt and BarCodes this time around sees that I do. The copies of them are Clear and Legible and the Support Guy confirmed that everything looked good. So I'm crossing my fingers here.
Anyways... Have any of you run into this issue with the DayDream View promo's for the Pixel phones? I am just curious.

I had the same problem, it was very frustrating, and while I was on the phone I was told that my pixel XL does not qualify, and the only phones that qualify are the pixel or pixel XL phones... huh???
Verizon Wireless doesn't even try anymore.

Having the same issue here with the 128 GB Black Pixel XL. Called once after getting the invalid message and the rep said that everything looked good and that he would escalate my issue and I should call back after 5 days. 5 days go back and I don't hear anything so I call again, now the next rep tells me the rebate is invalid because of the color.
A few hours later I found this thread so I though I would give chat a go this time, same deal as the phone call. "I am very sorry but the Black device does not qualify for the Google Daydream VR Headset" and he suggest that I call.
Dealings or lack of having to deal with Verizon have been ok so far but this whole deal is making me want to bail ship. I was also one of the Note 7 owners and I am wishing now I went with the refund option and bought my Pixel directly from Google with their financing option! Good note to self for the future.

Just had the same thing happen, I just sent an email asking why my device did not qualify, I didn't get a response , just an re submission confirmation 10 minutes later. I was returning my note 7 so i wonder if that had anything to do with confusion.

I have a feeling that the people looking at the rebates are just looking at the dates the receipts are printed. That is the only thing I can think of, because uploaded 2 copies of my receipt s. One from when I paid the taxes & fess on the 6th and another one they gave me when I picked up the phone on the 20th which was the date after the promo ended. So I think those Verizon Rebate People saw the receipt printed on the 20th and just invalidated it without researching the other receipt or details on either. That is just my guess. They really should look at the order itself to see what the details are and when it was preordered. It's just a bad process that they are using from what I can tell.

You're probably right. It's very frustrating and it puts us in a situation where we have to spend all this time complaining about it, rather than enjoying the fact that we have met the requirements and followed through how we were supposed to.

I just had a similar experience.
Submitted everything required and received an email saying my upc wasn't submitted. Opened a chat session, representative reviewed my submission and said "The black pixel doesn't qualify". To which I replied, how is Verizon excluding based on color. They resubmitted my paper work again and said it may be 7 days before I hear anything.
Not sure what's going to come of this but let's just say I wasn't happy hearing any of this.

Had same issue. Contacted support about it via chat. They resolved the issue with no action on my side but then they pushed the ship date of the Daydream unit out further. Just contacted them again about that and was told it will ship within 15 days.
I am wondering if all these issues are just due to a lack of units to ship.

I got a notification today that my rebate is invalid. I called Verizon and they told my phone didn't qualify because the phone is the color black. WTH? Color should not matter.

I called customer care agent and the agent found out that rebate department had conflicting information on the product codes. I recommend to call customer care and tell them whats going on.

I have a black Pixel XL and I did get a rebate submission approved for the Daydream VR.
I'm not saying you guys did make an error on the receipt submission. But what I did was I used the receipts in MyVerizon under the documents and receipts section for when I placed the order and such. Then I just took a picture of the box and submitted it, worked fine.
Best of luck

So i got this email today.
"am sorry for all the inconvenience this situation may caused you.
I was able to verify that your rebate is invalid because the Pixel Black does not qualify for this rebate.
We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you.
Sorry to inform you but your rebate could not be honored.
Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless."
This [Removed] isn't going to fly. Guess I'll have to call tomorrow.

Same thing I got, as I mentioned above. The reason this is done, is because most people don't pursue things like this. Believe it or not, the majority of people fail to send in rebates, or don't include everything that they need to... when they do, they can be weeded out to only 10-15%, by simply denying everyone. Because most people are not going to fight it.

Anyway, I sent an email asking for a copy of the rebate terms with color speciation highlighted (waiting)and I called the rebate center, they said my case had already been escalated and I should hear something in 4-8 days. I asked why I got an email saying black phones don't qualify, he said they don't, but then said slate phones do qualify ...so I should be fine, I wasn't aware there was a slate color (there isn't). Somewhere in Verizons system something is messed up for this to be happening, maybe the goofy naming conventions got truncated or something, but it appears to me the people handling the rebate have very little actual knowledge about the phones or what's happening.
Sure would be nice if a rep would chime in or at least acknowledge this thread.

So it looks like people are getting denied because of a typo or at least total and lack of effort on behalf of Verizon.

They told me the colors are silver, slate, and blue. Customer care agent
found that the quite black and slate have the same upc code. The customer
care agent just ordered a VR for me for free.

I don't understand how such a ridiculous problem could even exist.and its even more baffling that it hasn't been caught and corrected Verizon's own web site has them labeled correctly.

I placed a follow up call to customer service. The rep ended up placing my concerns into a notation, along with Verizon's own info about the daydream rebate where nothing is stated about color and says all pixel and pixel xl in any storage size was included. Hopefully that's enough.
No one should have to go though all these hoops for an advertised rebate. I can only imagine the amount of people who will get upset and not follow up. It's hard to recommend Verizon when this is the customer service you receive.
DO BETTER VERIZON!!

Definitely concerning. As I said I have a 32 GB black Pixel XL and my rebate went through fine.
