Pixel 7 Messages not sending to iphone

We just upgraded to new Pixel 7 phones and now we are have noticed an issue when we send text longer than maybe 2 lines to one of our contacts that uses an iphone they will not receive the messages.  If we split it up into 2 short messages it will work but a 4 line message they never receive even though it appears the message was sent and did not fail.  We did not have this issue with our older Pixel phones.

Any other Pixel or Android users having this issue?   Support wants to say the issue is with the person I am trying to text but we did not have this issue with older Pixel 2 phones and I can replicate this issue with 2 brand new Pixel 7 phones with more than one iphone owner.

I am able to send texts to iPhone users with my Pixel 7, also was able to with my Pixel 6 and Pixel 4XL. My wife sends texts to iPhone users all the time with her Pixel 7P.

What messaging app are you using, Google Messages, Verizon Message+, or some other text app? If you are using Google Messages do you have RCS Chat turned on?

You could try switching to Goggle Messages temporarily. It's easy to switch which app you want to be your default text/SMS app. Then see if you can send a text to the same iPhone user. That will narrow the problem to whether it is with your phone / or account vs the Message+ app.

Yes, has happened to me  last week with 2 different iPhone users.

One of the 2 messages that was not received was less than 2 lines.  Sent a very similar message a day later and it was received.  The problem seems intermittent, but very real.

We know it's important to make sure you are able to send messages, steveadams55. When did this issue start? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

This happened to me too, I have been troubleshooting for days.  I had trouble sending picture messages as well which made me think all MMS messages weren't working (1:1 SMS was fine as was Android only messages).

 

What FIXED my issue was I dug into the settings under My Verizon for my phone and the other phones on my account and found that we had blocked picture messages.  Once I removed that block I was able to text as I had previously.  Hope this helps you too, I spent hours on the phone with Verizon when I thought it was just an issue with my phone until a family member said they were struggling too.  that's when it made sense it was part of our plan and not phone specific.
