Police showed up today saying 911 was called from my wifes verizon pixel 7 pro.
She didn't call.
How can this happen?
Is there something wrong with the cell phone?
Is there some secret button click that calls 911 that we don't know about?

So here is the answer I was looking for.

Pressing the power button calls 911.
Nothing logs it.
Why is this ON by default?
I shut it off. With the articles help.
No one from Verizon could assist.
Maybe the article will help someone else.

Hi flagrant99, this can be troublesome to learn that somehow her phone called 911 when she did not. Let's figure this out. Often times when you did not call a number, but someone is saying you did call them, it could be that it is a spoofing scam or Caller ID spoofing. Please take a look at this helpful page https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-218765/ that will provide you all the details about spoofing. Just a question for you. Does it show in her call history on her phone that she actually dialed 911? -Alicia

No record of call on phone. Online it says no call log available for this line. I called verizon support they said call never happened. (Note: I couldn't really understand verizon support so I think they said no call happened?)

When a 911 call is placed from a Verizon device, the call detail does not appear on a customer's bill.

It just happened again this morning but this time if was triggered by Beats FIT Pro Headphones. She is only using the headphones to listen to music. The music wasn't playing so she pressed the button multiple times on the head phones. She was near the phone and noticed the Pixel 7 Pro was calling 911. Last time she wasn't near the phone to see that it was calling cuz bluetooth is wireless. I double checked Emergency SOS is OFF in android. So What am I supposed to do now? Is it the head phones? Android? Pixel 7 Pro? Verizon? This thing is making 911 calls that aren't even logged. Look we are adults. If want to call 911 we can press the numbers.
