On Monday the 24th, I started to have issues with messages, via Google Messages, being delayed up to 2 hours or more. I currently have 7 different video links from a friend, who uses AT&T, that show as an X and have the download circle around them.
I have restarted my phone several times, with little to no help. My phone is currently up to date and was purchased from a Verizon store.

Do you have Android 14 on your phone? If so, lots of Pixel 7 users have been reporting assorted texting issues after the recent Android update and another forum member posted elsewhere it is not Verizon, but a global issue. Would suggest sending a bug report about your phone to Google. I tried to paste in a link with the instructions, but the forums kept giving me an error message for some reason, so use a search engine for "bug report Google Pixel" and the instructions should pop up. Reportedly calling Google to explain the problem has not been particularly effective.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

This is not the same issue as the other threads. The March patch issue clears after a restart and texts start pouring in. The OP here states that a restart did not help. This is something different. This issue sounds like the phone is not provisioned correctly on the Verizon network. Maybe a SIM issue?

Hello, being on top of your equipment is crucial, especially if you are encountering messsaging issues. Verizon is here to help.
When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Aside from the Google Messsaging issue, any other dilemmas?

I've gotten 2 updates for Google Messages recently. One just appeared this morning. If it was something with Google Messages (?) hopefully that will fix the problem?

It's possible, but in this case I doubt it. If the issue was Google Messages there would be a lot of users affected and tons of posts on Reddit and on Google Support Community forums. I have not seen any posts like this on Reddit or the Pixel Community pages. In my experience what the OP described is usually related to an issue with the SIM card or the phone is not correctly provisioned on the Verizon network and Verizon needs to help provision the phone correctly while on the phone with the user.

Gilbert,
I started to notice the issue on the 24th of March. No changes other than the March 14th update. No issues with the phone other than text messages being delayed.

Gilbert,
I have finally got the issue fixed. I visited my local Verizon and had them contact customer service. Not sure what the issue or fix was, but stopping in store fixed the issue. May need to have wifi calling enabled.

Thanks for the update, Aod225. I'm very glad to hear our store agents were able to resolve the issue for you. Have a great day!
