Pixel 8A disconnects from Verizon Family App Constantly

We've had the Pixel 8A for my son for about a year, and it's been a nightmare to keep connected and monitor with the Verizon Family app. The goal was a simple phone, not another device to zone out on; a flip phone would have been better, but it lacks GPS.

Almost daily, we must reconfigure:
- The app can't be deleted from his phone
- Restrictions for websites/apps need resetting
- Data and web usage monitoring requires redoing steps

All features work perfectly on my daughter's Apple, I regret not giving my son the same.

I'm stuck paying for a supposedly kid-friendly device that fails at its core. Despite trying to disconnect from both Google and Verizon, Google's connection worsens, and Verizon keeps disconnecting. I can't be the only one having issues with this phone.

Hi @SMalme, have you reached out to the Verizon Family App Team directly?

If not, they can be reached by the following:

  • Their support email address is located on the PlayStore (look under 'App support'). Any tickets that may have been previously raised, provide that information to them.
  • In app help center (More > Help & Support > Send Feedback) which opens a ticket for them to investigate the issue, and their response will be sent there.

SMalme, we are sorry to hear that you are having problems with the Verizon Family App.  Can you tell us more about what happens when you try to delete the app from the phone?  What errors are you getting with the Family App? -Dee
