i have a thunderbolt and found for the last 5 days, that the data signal has not been consistent. i get 10-20 drops a day, but prior to that everything was just fine. i've read a lot of people are experiencing this...but still no resolution.
i also noticed that the location of my ip address is somewhere in kansas, i'm from san diego and my ip address location is usually in los angeles. could this be the problem?

from what you all are describing, it sounds like something on verizon's end. they may be working on towers in the area or something. i would do what spotlady mentined, and force it to 3g for a few days. check it in a few days and see if it works properly again. if not, call verizon to find out if there are issues in your area.

Same issue here in Santa Cruz, CA. It seems like it mostly happens when I'm at home, but for the past 3-4 weeks, I ave had constant data drop. Any ideas? Is it worth my time to call Verizon, or do they just not give 2 sh*ts? This is really frustrating and I don't know what to do. Just moved from T-Mobile to Big Red last December because of the improved coverage and phone signals, but If I had known I would have this many issues, I make have just stayed with Big Pink. Does ANYBODY have ANY suggestions?

I'm also having the same problem. I just got my phone and Im on my 1st replacement. Its not the phone or the sim card. I'm from Chula Vista basically San Diego. I called in customer service and they made me do the basic troubleshooting. I thought it was an app causing this problem but its not. I even disabled my GPS and its still not working. 4G LTE logo changes from blue to white and when it changes to white that's when all this data disconnection starts going on.

I've been having the same issue for about 4 weeks now. I have a thread on the Thunderbolt forums about the same issue. It can be found here: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/830112#830112
I called Verizon again yesterday to inquire about why I haven't received a call from the network team yet. I talked to a very helpful CSR who gave me a 50% credit on data for both the lines on my account. I'd suggest everyone else try to get the same.
Supposedly, the network team will be calling me today, but I got an email this morning stating the ticket I had open has been marked as resolved. I'm not sure if this is the network ticket I had open, or one of the others that have been opened during my nearly two week journey to attempt to get this issue resolved or at least looked at. I guess we will see if I get a call later. If the network ticket was just resolved, I'm going to be talking to Verizon about getting out of my contract.

Chelsea, AL - same problem for a number of days - just getting 3G, occassionally some 4G. Local Rep said I needed to reset phone by turning off then turning back on. It did go back to 4G but lost it within 5 min. Today I am barely getting any signal. No 4G, sometimes 3G (Briefly) mostly 1 and it is weak! Right now going from no signal to 1G and right back - running battery down switching back and forth. No signal now. If we didn't have wireless internet with Uverse we wouldn't be able to use Motorola Zoom Tablets for internet. Right now tablets have NO signal and it has been that way almost all afternoon when it is not totally down! What is going on with Verizon. We should be getting credits on our bills for this lack of service!

I have the same problem and have reported it with no help from Verizon. They keep blowing me off. They say that I am in a bad location but it worked perfect for the first three months. I believe someone changed the tower settings and will not reset them.

Chelsea, AL Update: System finally settled down late Sat afternoon, and I got 4G back...2 bars but steady & it was still on this morning!
May have been a heat issue, we've had 100+ temps all week.
I hope this stays stable now...if not, I'll post again. Luck to all with your issues.

They have been instructed to let you out of your contract. They don't know how to run the system. They are in panic mode. I removed my sim card and battery and replaced them after several minutes. My unit booted up on 4g. Started to go on the internet and it switched to 3G. Does anyone have experience with signal boostere listed on the internet. nVerizon ignores them.

have had an open ticket with verizon since jun 19, requested for an update on the ticket on Monday and received nothing but, "let's try to change you're SIM card." i'm not confident that the sim card will fix the issue. I'm thinking it's just another way to kill time for them. Should be getting the new SIM card today, i'll keep ya'll posted if that fixes the issue.

Latest from Chelsea, AL....Back to no service switching from 3G to 4G to no signal. Dropped calls, cuts off in middle of call. I do not recommend Verizon anymore to my friends. I have a Motorola Xoomtablet. Travelling with friend Sat had Xoom on and my Motorola Droid cellphone. Xoom on 4G and getting data downloads at 3 & 4 bars, cellphone on 3G at 2 and, occasionally, 3 bars also NO SIGNAL! How is that possible? Same manufacturer, same operating system?!
