My TBolt was recently upgraded to ICS. However, now I have a message that says, " Activating your phone... Please wait until your phone has been activated and restarted. This process may take up to 2 minutes." However, it's been several hours and the phone has not been activated nor has it restarted. I manually restarted the phone and the same message appears.
Has anyone else had this issue?

I had this come up as well. wasn't particularly concerned as I could see in the status bar that I was connected and transferring data. It disappeared after unlock and I've not seen it again as of yet. Most disturbing to date is my phone ringing with a ringtone that is not on the phone. 0_O

I'm having the same problem after ICS update: lock screen with message about activating phone.... Wait 2 minutes.....
It's been several hours, phone fully charged, on wireless, 4g, and wifi, been rebooted, and unlocked several times.
Is this a known bug or problem? The update to ICS happened several days ago, this just started.

It may be, mine did it again and this time I was transferring data and had a connection but it was not recognizing my phone number on my sim. WOW. I don't even know how that happened. Hasn't done it anymore though.

I am having the same issue. Cold or Warm reboot does nothing. As soon as phone locks after timeout I see
-----------------------------------
Activating your phone
(picture of SIM) with !
Please wait.....
-----------------------------------
Doesn't go/Hasn't gone away.....
Doesn't seem to be negatively affect use. Update did force me to erase and format my SIM though...

I reset mine as it connected and transferred quite a lot of data while saying that it was roaming as well. After reset was fine until I rebooted then sim activation popped up again. I'm not doing a hard reset again. I've pulled the battery and sim and re booted several times and also, cleared cache on hboot. Maybe is was just not updated correctly ota. They are probably working on more patches for this update.

Well, I haven't had the message anymore after the day I posted this message. I turn off my phone at night. But, the next morning when I turned on the phone, the message disappeared. I wonder if this is a bug with the ICS update.
One thing I've noticed, since the update, is that the 4GLTE service has slowed down and it is really killing my battery. Now, I have to charge every half day instead of every night.

Spoke too soon. The activating screen came back again. Oh well, my contract ends at the end of this month. I'll decide what to do from there. One thing is for sure, I won't continue with the Thunderbolt because the ICS update has really screwed up this phone.

Hi, I am also currently getting that message "please wait until your phone has been activated and restarted...". I have powered down and restarted my phone several times.
The last forced update of my Thunderbolt (to Ice Cream Sandwich) really screwed up my phone, and I ended up taking it into a Verizon store for "help". Basically they turned off the phone, removed the battery and sim card, then reassembled it after which I lost all of my installed programs, and all data associated with the programs, even though I had moved them to my SD card So, during their "helpful" process I lost all of my data. That got me really mad. After that, I had to reinstall all of my software, and at least thought any major issues were behind me.
This most recent forced update to my phone has done it again. I get the message everyone here is complaining about, and turning off and on the phone several times has not helped. I am sure that if I were to take it into the Verizon store they would suggest what I have seen here in the threads: turn off phone, remove battery, remove sim card, reinstall it all. But I am going to be furious if that results in a total loss of data and software as happened before.
First I find it ridiculous that I should have to disassemble my phone and reassemble it, to complete ANY update that was forced onto my phone. Or that I should have to take it to a dealer to essentially have them do that for me.
Needless to say, both myself and my girlfriend will be dropping our Verizon contract once it expires. I have no interest in supporting a company that has clearly gotten too large to care about it's customer base. I didn't ask for the updates to be forced onto my phone, and they are rendering it pretty much useless every time they occur. What kind off customer experience is that????
I have been a Verizon customer since 1998 or so, and I am fed up with this.

I had the same issue.I followed "mdram4x4" instructions and all is well. I found that my micro sd card had "popped out." Once I reinstalled it and put everything back together, my phone works fine.

This is happening to me as well, adn the phone seems to be working fine, but I'm getting this message every time I turn on/wake up the phone. Also, they seem to have paired the notifications, so that I can't figure out how to mute my notifications for messages while the phone ringer is on. Can anyone help with this as well? thank you.

Same message after4 restarts too. In settings, Date &Time, I unchecked Automatic date & time and automatic date time, then a restart. Message is gone. I set them back afterward, did restart, message is still gone.
