Since it appears Verizon is in no hurry to bring Skype to the thunderbolt, is there an alternative app out there does also does video communications?

I don't have the site offhand, but there is a version of Skype out that works on the Thunderbolt.
I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and it seems to work fine.
I also have briefly tried Tango and also works.

on the second page of the linked thread there is a link to a good version of skype. i downloaded and it works just fine. skype and yahoo messenger are the only ones that will do mobile to pc......tango and the rest only do mobile to mobile.
