I think I might get the Thunderbolt soon. Is there any word yet on how much the data plan will be? Also is it unlimited? I'm not willing to pay more than $5 more for 4G.

I keep hearing a possible $15 LTE data premium on smart-phones to bring it in-line with the data-sticks since in theory you can tether on the smart-phones. So $45/month for LTE data on Thunderbolt and $50/month for the data-sticks. WIth that the extra tethering fee in theory would go away. (VZW gets more money, you get more freedom.)

Doubt they'd include tethering. That'd be great though. Granted I'm sure there would be a catch to it.

Will the data plan be unlimited? Whats the point of spending more on a plan that gives you less? I guess well find out for sure in a couple days if I'm correct. Also, anyone know if I can just get a 3G plan for a 4G phone?

ravenoushunger wrote:Will the data plan be unlimited? Your guess as good as anyone's Whats the point of spending more on a plan that gives you less? The Thunderbolt will be a fast phone (I presume), if that is what you call less then maybe you should pass on purchasing it. I guess well find out for sure in a couple days if I'm correct. Also, anyone know if I can just get a 3G plan for a 4G phone? No you won't be able to activate without an "LTE" plan (my opinion).

Well by less I meant less data if they put a cap on it. 5GB would be used up in a day with me so it's kinda pointless.

unlimited data on your phone is 29.99. and most likely going to stay that until you upgrade your device (since tiered pricing will be out "soon")
As far as the hotspot, yah it does seem rather limited with 10g for like 60 or 70 bucks whatever it is..
