Just want to know if there is a big difference and how bulky does it make it?

It is bulkier. But I got almost 10 hours of screen on time out of the extended battery yesterday before it hit 25% left. It also handled the heat of 95+ degree day.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I think they only made a total of 23 extended batteries for sale...can't find them anywhere...

I bought my extended battery the day I bought my Thunderbolt.  There's a big difference for me as far as call time/ use time.  Even in a 4g area that I visited recently,  I got a whole days use out of my phone.  It's not that much bulkier in my opinion.  It still fits in my back pocket, which is where I have to have it when working.  It makes the phone just a little bit heavier, almost as heavy as the Droid X was to me.

it definitely makes a significant difference (although i don't use one). just keep in mind that there are no true cases that fit with it installed. also...."if" there's ever any true car or home docks manufactured for this device, it won't fit in them. i thought it was just too bulky so i passed on it. however, if my battery life decreases over time (as it did with my incredible) then i'll have to get one at some point. the stock battery is "barely" acceptable to me now....but i suspect in a few months it won't hold the charge quite as well as it does now.

The 2750mAh extended battery is too big and makse the phone look like crap.  I picked up two 1700mAh batteries on Ebay with a plugin/usb charger.  Thats only 20% more battery but it fits with the existing cover.

The real battery power savings came from installing these 2 apps.

I am not affliated with the developers of these apps.   I'm just a fan.

LTEonOff -

Turn of 4G unless I really need super fast downloads

I always turn 4G back on when plugged in

Juice Defender  (Free version) -

This is an awesome app that shuts down all data downloads when your phone is in sleep mode.  You can still get calls and text's but just about everything else put to sleep.   It's completely configurable.  My battery lasts 2x longer.

Try it - you have nothing to loose.

Hope this helps.

Juice Defender is good but if your email account is set to "push' emails to your phone, that won't automatically happen if JD is enabled...unless I'm missing something.
