Is it possible to import my Apple Address book from my iMac to my HTC Thunderbolt?

Not directly, but if you go to mail.google.com, and sign in with the same gmail address that you have linked to your phone, you may be able to do it there.

Just export from the Mac as a csv (comma separated file format) and you can import it into your gmail address book. Then you can use the phone sync app to get it to the phone (and Verizon backups). You may even be able to import the csv file into your my Verizon acct.)
