The SIM card in my Thunderbolt went bad back at the end of May. I was on a business trip and could not get a data connection. I took it to the nearest store and they replaced the SIM card which brought back data connection. Since then, the MyVerizon online account (Verizon's billing system) does not recognize what type of phone I have. It is a greyed out flip phone that says "General". Since this has appeared this way on MyVerizon, I am unable to get ANY OTA UPDATES that I was supposed to get on my Thunderbolt. When I try to download an update, it says it is checking for updated software now and then it just disappears. No Update! I called tech support over a week ago, they filed a trouble ticket with I.T. and said I would have to wait 24-48 hours...I followed up with them on Monday and they said they haven't had time to fix the problems with MyVerizon and to wait 24-48 hours! I called again today and no one in I.T. has yet to take the time to fix the problem. The technician tried to deactivate and reactivate my phone and screwed up my data plan! I had unlimited data and now it says I only have 2GB!!! Come on VERIZON I want all three problems fixed NOW!!! I pay over $130 per month !!!

I'm with ya. I don't have a problem with my sim card (I don't think) but I can't get any ota updates either. I'm still waiting for my 2.3 update and its just constant runaround. We pay good money for **bleep** service. I'm thinking about [Edited to comply with Terms of Service] to not have to deal with this anymore.

Then fix mine too!!!!
, I just brought my HTC 4G Thunderbolt to the nearest VZW dealer here in Sacramento, CA with major sim issues, constantly saying there is no sim....the tech replaced it with a new sim....it's back to its no sim error and the sim is less than 6 days old. AND NOW verbatim as BeeHaven: "Since then, the MyVerizon online account (Verizon's billing system) does not recognize what type of phone I have. It is a greyed out flip phone that says "General". Since this has appeared this way on MyVerizon,...."
I am one of those lucky LUCKY unlimited data folks......please don't screw my plan I just want the dam phone fixed. My phone is still under the manufacturer warranty.

I am having the same problem. I had to switch my SIM card a couple months back, now I'm not getting any OTA updates either. MyVerizon also does not recognize that I have an HTC Thunderbolt.
How do I get this fixed?
