Battery life

Has anyone figured out how to get one day of battery life out of the Thunderbolt. I am charging at least 3x a day. This is terrible!  If they don't fix this problem fast I  plan on suing Verizon /HTCfor non-performance. This is a contractual breach. Anyone want to become a part of a class action?

*sigh* another empty law suit threat

did you search this forum? ive seen several threads about battery life

and how to get more out of it

im beggining to think a knowledge test is required prior to purchasing a phone

"So sorry, your answers only qualify you for this 1992 vintage bag phone"

"sorry sir, no smartphone for you, just htis basic flip phone, oh and no camera, maybe next time you can study up and do better"

I went to the store that I bought this phone at yesterday complaining about the battery life "issue" with this phone.  Verizon states on the site that it only has a 390 minute battery = 6.5 hrs.... **bleep**...  That is best case scenereo.  If you get on the 4g network, it drops considerably.  I bought the phone on the 21st of March and they wouldn't let me exchange it for something that actually works correctly.  What a bunch of crap.  Anyway, I complained enough and showed the manager of the store that the battery is a very big issue with this phone with complaints on Verizon's own web site.  I told the guy that the phone itself is great, but the battery itself SUCKS!  So he comp'd me the extended battery at no cost.  Honestly, I think that HTC should do something about the phone, not Verizon.  Maybe if enough people complain about the battery life, HTC will get the picture and fix it.  I doubt it though.  Its obvious that they know there is a problem, otherwise they wouldn't have released an extended battery for it so quickly.  Now what makes this whole situation worse is that this phone is my wifes LOL!  So you know I hear about it constantly.  I have a buddy that went to Denver last weekend to a concert and was on the 4g network, which he said had "ludicrous speed" (sorry for the spaceballs reference), but his phone lasted 2.5 hrs before it died.  That was on a full charge.  Why would a company release a product that they know will be blasted as soon as people figure out that the battery doesn't last at all.  Kinda stupid in my opinion.  But the new battery will be here Thursday.  Hopefully it will help remedy the problem somewhat.  I did hear about a new app on engadget.com that allows a person to disable the 4g//3g search and only use the 3g network.  I am not sure this will work because I had a full charge on the phone yesterday at noon, and by 5 p.m., the battery was down to half, and it HAD NOT BEEN USED, except for receiving emails.  No phone calls, no video recorded NATTA.  So you tell me whats up with this battery hog.

I sure hope that the IPHONE5 has better battery life.  If its anything like the IPAD, it will be fine.  I like the android os just as much as I do the IOS.  I just want a phone that functions well and doesn't drain the battery like a fuel pump off the space shuttle does to a swimming pool.

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant,

Tim

sorry....but if you researched it at all, you would've found that the battery blows (along with every other htc android). unless you're fine with an extended battery, or are frequently near a charging option, then any htc android is not going to be acceptable to you. this was known before the phone was even launched. i had hoped that they would end up putting a 1700-1800mah battery in it, but no such luck. they are content to make even more $ on the sales of the extended battery. you can waste your time and money prsuing a lawsuit that will go nowhere.....or you can simply return it for something with a better baterry life. the iphone has a great battery life and i believe the moto X and Fascinate have decent battery lives (for android anyway).

oh please don't go there.  There are enough over in that forum already whining and threatening lawsuits for the lack of Froyo. Granted most of those have apparently gotten the ban hammer.

Just got the 2750 mAH battery and have got a widget to turn off 4G, it should last about a day and a half now. I'll repost when I have the battery for longer then a day.
