Broken screen, can't see to turn on Hotspot. HELP!

I am stuck in rural northern ca with out phone, internet or cable. I broke the screen on my Thunderbolt. It was my only link to the outside world. I was using hotspot to connect to the internet, before it broke. It was slow with poor reception, but it was SOMETHING!

All the buttons on the phone work, i just can't see where they are cause it is all black, althought the screen backlight does come on. I was hoping someone would be nice enough to post two pictures for me.

1) The drag down menu that shows recent apps. It has a settings and notification tab at the bottom, i think. The tab at the bottom on the right is a short cut to turn on wireless, gps, bluetooth and hotspot. I need to make sure i am pressing the right part of the screen to access this.

2) I need a picture of the wireless, gps, bluetooth and hotspot list so i can try to press the right place to turn on the hotspot.

If anyone could post a couple pictures of the process to turn on hotspot I would be HUGELY grateful. I have tried over and over with no luck. Some sort of reference would be nice, like a pencil or ruler, paperclip, ANYTHING, really.

Save me from a slow death of BOREDOM!

Sorry to hear about your busted phone, but I was curious ... if you are "stuck in rural northern ca with out phone, internet or cable", how did you post this issue on the forum?

I have family that lives about 20 minutes away from where I am staying.

Work is really slow, so I can come use the computer here, but I can't

afford the gas to come all the time. Time and no money or money and no

time. Either way I am running out of books and movies and my down time is

miserable. It also rains here all the time so I can't really go outside.

Gotcha!  Your original post had me confused this morning, especially before I'd had my coffee.

Hey maxm!

It sounds like we need to take care of that cabin fever you're having! I can help you out here!

I have attatched the two photos that I took today. A co-worker had a Thunderbolt, however, the screen was cracked. They are good pictures otherwise. I included a standard post it note pad next to the phone. I folded it in half and marked that as well. Hopefully that serves as a good frame of reference for measurement. Funny enough, I did not have any type of ruler available. I hope that helps you!

Now, in regards to your device itself, did you have insurance or was it still under warranty? Was there any damage to the phone (like the one I sent you *winks*)? If there is no damage and it's under warranty, you can call 800-922-0204 for a replacement. If it is damaged, you can file a claim online here http://bit.ly/07CrqPK.

Please let us know if this helped or if you need anything else. Thanks!

Thank you berry much! This is much more helpful than nothing, that is for sure! I had forgot that wifi was first in the list, so that right there will increase my odds greatly! My story with the phone is lame as far as service goes. I had the phone in the chest pocket of my ski jacket and was walking around town the in the snow after a storm. The heat from my body condensed and made my phone moist enough to trip the void sticker under the battery cover, which is lame because it didn't effect the phone at all, but ruined my ability to warranty any future problems. I do have insurance, but they increased the deductible to $90 which I cannot afford. And besides that, I have been warned by people from the industry to keep my stock phone for as long as possible because the average life span of the refurbished phones is about 6 months. I have, my self, experienced this in other phones. But I'm open to suggestions!
