How did I do?
sunshine01, gingerbread is a version of the android operating system. Microsoft had Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. The Android Operating System used "food" as their versions. Here is the operating systems that Android uses:
version 1.5 is Cupcake
version 1.6 is Donut
version 2.1 is Eclair
version 2.2 is Froyo (Frozen Yogurt) (this was the original version that the Thumnberbolt had when it was first released)
version 2.3.x is Gingerbread
version 3.x is Honeycomb (this version is used by the tablets)
version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) (this is slated to be a combination of the Gingerbread and Honeycomb OS, one version that will operate (in theory) on smartphones and also tablets)
I am also waiting on the new "update" to come out. I was one of the few that got the "original" Gingerbread OTA update on September 28th (tomorrow will be 4 weeks ago). The only problem that I have encountered (thank goodness) is the missing voicemail notification.
Mine just begun the update automatically at 11:33pm.

You did great! By now, I trust the Community has received the Thunderbolt Update which has started being pushed out.
In the link you can also view the benefits of completing this update.
As with any software update, we do recommend a Hard/Factory reset make sure you backup your information prior to completing the hard/factory reset.

I'm trying to get the update and can't, that SUCKS!!
Chill out. It's called a "rollout" for a reason. If they pushed it to all T-bolt owners at once it would crash their servers. You'll get it, don't worry.
How do they decide who gets gets it first though??
