Every single day I curse VZW....
Why? Because every time I plug my Thunderbolt into my USB I have to deal with your dialog box and auto launch of the Media Manager web page.
I'm sure that's the reaction you hoped for when decided to load this spamware onto my Thunderbolt's O/S...and then gave me no way to turn it off on the phone.
GET THIS OFF MY PHONE!@!@! GRRRRRRRRR!

The following works on the HTC Incredible, maybe on the TB also.
dial ##7764726
Hit Call
Type Password 000000 (that's 6 zeros)
Hit Feature Settings
Choose CD ROM
Click Disable
Hit menu, commit modifications (it will say no item changed)

Also you can go to icon in right corner and select Moto icon and select do nothing option when plugged in.,

That option isn't available on Tbolt.
@Wildman
Manufactured by HTC, not Motorola
To the OP
I managed to make this dialog not pop up on my Win7 machine. I did something with the Windows settings to always "do nothing". I forget the exact steps.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Sorry I got use to this being a Motorola thing, looks like Verizon has started doing this with other devices. Mot has a app called Moto Connect that does the same issue..

see this thread:
you have to disable autoplay on your browser. it is a slightly different process/location, depending on your version of windows so i posted the thread where a few people with different versions did it.

I never really thought about the auto play option because I usually always disable it automatically but that resolution is sound and should work.

Here's the bonus of turning off autoplay on your PC...it disables autoplay for ALL of your USB devices...of course, if you only ever plug in your phone, that works fine...otherwise it's not a solution.... GET IT OFF MY PHONE!!!!

I got a suggest Dont Plug it into the P.c. use the charger that was supplied with it. I never ever charge my phones with the USB an from the computer as many isssues can come up with it. If u want a little faster charge get a power supply from Radio shack one that a car charger can plug in it an charge it that way its a little faster than the home or Box charger an its getting a good clean charge from the Power Supply why you ask use a power supply I had CB's For 10 years an ive Used several of then an they provide good clean power to any source thats charging or running off them.

why do you need autoplay for ANY usb device? it seems a bit nit picky to say "i'm ok with aoutoplay for this or that, but not this and that." you don't have a problem with any other device you use automatically launching? they are doing the exact same thing as verizon.

@dincx110 - you plug your phone in to your PCs to sync it with information from your computer, not to charge it...
@ AZSALUKI... - People plug in lots of USB devices to their computers everyday, not just their phones and autoplay is preferred for most of these devices, e.g., external drives, ipods... These devices are NOT doing the same thing as Verizon!!! Verizon is perpetually pushing a product I don't want at me... the other devices launch their accompanying player or open a window so they can be accessed. VZW wants to put spamware on their phones that can't be turned off, I have to wait for a browser session to launch every time I plug in my phone...even when my laptop isn't connected to the internet. The solution to turn off autoplay ONLY works for people that don't use OTHER USB devices where autoplay is desirable.
By the way...hey VZW - Get this off my phone!!!!

Just thought I'd post up again since I had to plug in to sync my Outlook to my phone this morning...since you are so kind to force me to respond to your dialog box and launch me to your website I thought I'd keep this post fresh.
While I was here I scanned the other posts and I see you have tons of other problems that are probably higher priorities, so I won't hold out on any hope for a fix anytime soon.
I can also hope someone gets the point that you need to add a way to turn this off on ALL future phones. Maybe then I'll trade in this phone for a non-spammed 4G device...
Oh yeah, before I forget - GET THIS OFF MY PHONE, PLEASE!!!!

I'm having the same problem on a Mac and PC.
Verizon install a fake CD rom on the phone so it auto run everything the users "us" try to charge it.
That fake DC rom also launch the verizon web page, I dont want to visit the Verizon page, i just want to charge my phone when i'm at work.
How do i prevent this form happening?
Currently when i plug it in, it dont even charge it just keep looping with the CD rom and cause a ton of popup message on my computer.

What if you do a factory data reset to remove it from your phone. Then uninstall the verizon media manager from your pc.

A factory reset will only start the process all over again to ask you to load the software. AZSALUKI is right, just set the phone to charge only and you will not see the request again.

This is incorrect. Mine has been set to Charge Only from day one and I still get the install request and the Verizon website. Oh also, I hate the fact that I can't uninstall anything that Verizon deemed "necessary" to put on my phone. Rock Band, no thanks. Golf, no don't want it. Any VZW stamped application, never have and never will open them.
Computer manufacturers are required to allow you to remove bloatware from a new system. How much legal push is needed to get the carriers to follow the same rules?
