I mostly keep data disabled on my phone for everyday use. However, every time I turn the phone on since yesterday 3g pops up and transfers data. This is , as I said, while data is disabled on all menus. I know that most people have their phones on all the time but what in the world causes this? It's disturbing to know that the phone is enabling itself and like I said it only just began to do this.

That is odd. Do you have the latest update installed. There is one pushing out right now.

Your phone should be responding to changing your data settings lemew. I'm glad to hear you have the latest software. Please let us know if the problem resurfaces. As an additional option, you can test airplane mode to see if the phone responds differently. http://bit.ly/M4Wqge

Thank you for the reply. The problem repeated itself today. I generally keep data off lately to save on battery use. Today when sending a message, data came on. It was an mms message so I don't know if it just works that way or not however, I did not have data enabled. The other instances were with no data on and upon booting the phone. Could my phone be sending a message upon booting?

Well great. Darn it. Today I have double applications. There are even two My Verizon applications and I've never even opened that one. I'm totally perplexed.

Problem temporarily rectified itself with a total system crash to white HTC screen and then restarting itself. This happens frequently.
