It usually takes a lot to get me to complain, but I think someone from Verizon needs to explain this. On the latest update (1.70.605.0), it specifically says "Desktop cradle App is now available, showing clock in landscape mode.". Okay I got 2 desktop cradles (one from Seidio and the other is the HTC version) and I have not been able to find this Desktop Cradle App that Verizon said was available. I have looked on Verizon's website and all the Droid Market, but I have not found an app with that name. Now I did find numerous "Car Dock" apps on the Droid Market, but I am looking for one that will show the clock on the home screen in landscape mode when I insert my phone into it. There was a setting on the phone prior to the last update, but now it does not show up any more.

Sorry for some odd reason it gave me an error message and I didn't realize that it had actually posted the message.
No, it doesn't change for either of the docks. I tried both ways of connecting the docks (connecting to computer and connecting to AC) I was hoping that maybe when you put the phone in the dock that car dock setting would re-appear, but it doesn't.

You can find the app by looking at the all applications.
Go to settings > applications > manage applications > all tab > scroll down to "Dock Mode Lite".

I see the same thing on mine. I think the latest update removed the app, but left the marker for the filename (I know a little about computers). Its like creating a new folder on your computer and putting nothing into it. The folder is there, but it has nothing in it. I also found another app listed called "Car Panel" that shows the same zeros on everything.

Thanks for the information. stargazer72460, I recommend uninstalling the app that is causing you problems and reinstall the app. Listed below are the directions. Applications included with the Android Operating System may not have an uninstall option.
To Uninstall:
- From the Home screen, select the applications tab (lower-left corner).
- Select Settings.
- Select Applications.
- Select Manage applications.
- Select the application.
- Select Uninstall.
- Select OK.
- Select OK.
To Install Apps:
- From the home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
- Select Market.
- If presented, select Accept to continue.
- Refer to Download and Install Applications-Android Market

Your Kidding right?? Did you even READ these Post??? We are talking about an AP that was soposed to come with the lattest Firmware Update sent in July. ALSO if you bothered to read the post you woudl have seen that we have mentioned that the AP in question shows up in the Ap manager lsiting but shows that ther is no date for it at all AND is likely an empty folder.
Im amazed that a rep for Verizon woudl simply responded blindly to a post and give advice with out reading the post that lead up to it. The amount of headacks that coudl cause a customer are endless. Plese next time read befor you post expcialy if your going to represent Verizon and gve Tec advice.

I agree with you DroidM, if a Verizon rep is going to reply to a post in this forum they need to read ALL the posts and not just read one and reply to that one. The instructions that the Verizon rep posted will not work anyway. The app is no longer installed on the phone, only the filename remains. You don't even get the option to Uninstall (all functions are greyed out) and even if you could the app does not exist on the Market or Verizon.

The two dock apps might show only 0KB under the Manage Applications, but the system directory seems to have more bytes attached to the apks. I have seen this is also true for the Lets Golf 2 app. Lets Golf 2 is only listed as 484KB, but in reality it is131 MB on the system.
This file explorer lets you view the system files, but you can't modify anything.

Hello stargazer72460,
I do understand your expectations per the posted information about the 1.70.605.0 update and the desktop cradle application. However, at this time per HTC the update 1.70.605.0 did not include the desktop cradle app. HTC is aware and are working on this feature. Thank you.
