Do I need a sim card to activate a refurbished HTC one?

Hello,

I'm a rookie when it comes to these technology issues as I am upgrading from an old I phone 4.

I just bought a Verizon refurbished HTC one and was wanting to know if I need  to take it to a Verizon store and purchase a sim card? Or can I just turn in on and activate?

You will need a SIM card.

But don't "buy" one.  Go to a Verizon corporate store and you can get one for free.

Or call Verizon Customer Service and request one be mailed to you.
