Email Notification Problem

Hi Community,

I have email notification for my Yahoo! account for my Thunderbolt.  When I get an email, the phone alerts me with two short vibrations (no sound).  The notification continues even when I am talking on the phone.  I would love for the notification to be suspended when the phone is connected.  Anybody know if this can be done?  I am currently using the App "Quick Profiles" to manage my alerts.  It works well and I don't think that is the problem but thought I would mention it.  Thanks!

Hello bob312,

It must be frustrating to receive notification alerts while you are on a call. I am here to help! To turn off notification sounds, please follow the steps below:

From the main screen, touch Menu
Touch Settings
Touch Sounds
Touch Notification sound

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Hi there and thanks for your reply.

I think the instructions below are fine to adjust whether the phone alerts for

new emails.  What I am asking is if there is a way to keep the alert from

occurring only when the phone is engaged with a voice call.  Otherwise, the

phone should continue to alert, in this case, vibrate.  I actually don't think

this is a settings issue.  I think this is a software issue.  The phone should

be able to recognize that it should suspend the email (or any other alert for

that matter) when a call is in progress.  Because it doesn't, the user is

subject to a buzzing alert while the phone is on the ear, which by the way, is

also heard by the person at the other end.

Half the time my email tells me my address is invalid when sending, 20 minutes later it works.... Such crap. I think the best is when my phone resets itself and sets all my ring tones to silent and this happens at least every other day, dont let me get started with the Blutooth disconnect while in a call.

Hello Bob,

Thanks for the information. When I look at the settings of the device there is no way to turn off the alerts only when the device is engaged in a voice call, You will have to turn the notification sound off completely.

Thanks,
