HTC Rhyme - ring will not unlock

for some reason I can't unlock my phone. The ring will not slide up to open my phone. I can't even power my phone off so I can restart it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get my phone to unlock? Please and thank you!

My phone just started doing this tonight.  I've had it for over a year.  Did you find out how to fix this?  I wonder what caused it all of a sudden?

Did anyone find a solution for the ring not responding on their phones?  Mine started doing it this morning.

I'm sure this can be aggravating!  I would love to help.  First, what is the device current software version http://vz.to/11w0ixc.  Ensure your device has the latest software version installed http://vz.to/10uigVs.

Had you recently installed any new applications?  If so, I recommend removing the application http://vz.to/12TdeDt and retest.  I would also test the device for a day with it powered up in Safe Mode http://vz.to/13YIfkM.  This will allow us to see if the issue is application related.  If the issue stops while in Safe Mode, I recommend removing the culprit application or you can simply Hard Reset the device http://vz.to/11MuQup.  Let me know how this works out for you.  Thanks!

This has happened to me MANY times.... all i do is

1.Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds, and then release it. HTC Rhyme will then turn off.

2.Press the power button to turn HTC Rhyme back on.

Everything starts back working just fine....(Still haven't figured out what causes this to happen though)
