Hard Reset concerns

If I back up all my data before a hard resert and reload it, won't I be reloading any problems I just deleted through the hard reset?  Also, is the HTC Sync application the place to do my backup?

All you need to restore is the Call History, SMS and MMS and email settings if the backup app you are using support this because Google will restore your contacts information for you...   If you restore any personal settings or apps from backup it could be possible to have the problem restored as well if a app or setting caused the issue. Best to not restore them..
