I've been having a problem with the stock texting program where I send a message to one person and it sends to another. I was told if I use another client such as handcent it wont happen. SO I donwloaded Handcent, now does anyone know how to disable the stock messaging program so I dont get double texts? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Should be under Settings in the stock messaging app
All you have to do is delete the accounts from the stock app and then Handcent will be the only one recieving messages, Handcent dont need this info to work..
as far as i know, all you can do is stop the notifications. i've never found a way to keep the messages from showing up in both apps. in fact, even with my notifications disabled on the stock sms app, the pop up counter (little bubble that shows up on the app's icon with the message count) still shows the count.....and the messages show up in hancent and the stock app. i see no way to actually disable the stock sms app.
