I recorded a video that, upon viewing, is upside down

I recorded a video, holding my HTC ONE horizontally and the video is upside down when viewing. I've recorded many videos and this is the first time that has occurred. I know there is no way to fix the video, and I cannot retake it since it was a bday video, but can someone tell me what I did wrong this time?

I know it's important to capture those precious memories Mysty1! Were you using the standard video recorder app when this one was taken? Have you tested it again since you recorded the one you had difficulties with? Any settings changed with the camera or video recorder?
