Well, occasionally Verizon employees stick their nose in these forums.  I've seen it happen.  Whether the phone update is still in testing or not, I am just asking Verizon to prove me wrong.  One test report dated in the past week would suffice.  That would show good faith on their part that they are trying.

Good faith from Verizon... what am I saying... these are the guys that think we will be happier paying for tiered, shared family data than enjoying unlimited data plans.  I must have gotten too much sun yesterday.

The update schedule is subject to change.  No way Verizon or HTC know exactly when that far ahead of time.  Heck they probably don't know exactly when it'll be now as that's just the nature of software development.  it'd be nice if Verizon kept everyone updated on the progress but they don't.  Verizon just can't win either way...release an update early and have people complain about bugs or test a little more and have the same ones complain that there's a conspiracy and verizon is keeping something from them.

Personally, I don't think its a conspiracy.  I think they are purposely holding back the update to reel in those that can upgrade now to a more expensive phone such as the Droid Incredible 4G or Galaxy S3.  There are several places online that you can get the Rezound for sweetheart deals and if the ICS Update was available, then you could buy a good, cheap phone instead of a $199 to $299 phone that will come with ICS.

I never said it said planned, I meant whatever the press release says I will always think that they mean "planned".  Like PJ wrote schedules change.  I know of one Fortune 500 company that put out a schedule of planned visits of historical equipment at the beginning of this year.  I haven't followed the equipment's journery very closely, but I do know that the schedule has changed at least once in a major way and some minor ways.  Press releases containing forward looking statements (System Updates for example) con't always be taken for fact.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I didn't say you said it was planned.  I said there November Press Release did not use the word "planned".  There release said "available".  Available to me means immediate or right away.

It was still a forward looking statement by using "Available Early 2012".  It still means that is when they THOUGHT" would be available.  It doesn't mean that it would be available then.

unfortunately the ones that do post will likely know about an update after we do.  Aside from canned responses and possibly looking at account issues, they're not going to be much help and some of them will even admit to it.  It really is a shame that Verizon yet they still have an obvious disconnect with their customers. They always claim they want to provide the best service for the customers but don't seem to be listening.  It'd be nice to see an undercover boss type thing where they actually leave their nice cozy offices and talk to their customers and even their employees.

And yeah, a device by device status report would likely appease the masses especially at a time when they're constantly making changes.  A community test group wouldn't be a bad idea either.  Take volunteers to test the new updates as there's no way their testers can account for all the variables as seen by the fact that their updates are generally a buggy mess.  They sometimes have soak tests and I've seen manufacturers occasionally look for test groups but not like they should.  It's sad that custom roms are more stable than official releases and that's all due to support from the community.

Not really. Other wise they would have said "might be" or "could be", but it didn't

I do think that the "leaked" versions are just another form of beta testing. Throw something out to the community, follow the inevitable discussion threads, then apply some of the same tweaks the independent devs throw in.
