Issue with Friend Stream

I've tried many times, but I can't use friend stream without it syncing my contacts with twitter and facebook. I've gone into options and deselected the "sync" contacts options numerous times, but it still seems to sync the contacts. Any suggestions on solving this issue?

I don't know how you can get rid of the contacts completely if you've got sync off but you can go to People, Menu, View, and uncheck anything you don't want showing, which is what I did, and I've also got only with phone number checked.

That way at least my phone book isn't spam full of things I don't want to scroll through to find someone I actually want in my phone book.
