In an area where 4G service is not expected for awhile. But the last few weeks, pretty much anywhere I am the data connection would drop, but come back. Well, it dropped last night and has not returned.
Tried all the usual types of fixes without any luck. I fear that radio has bit the dust.
Will let ya know what happens today.

MikeS_VZW came through! After an hour of, "Try this, try that", he said a master reset is in my future. Then he sent one more message with one more suggestion and it has cured my no data issue.
I am back in business and a huge thanks to Mike! You are awesome!!!!

I am also having data connection issues. Ever since the latest OTA update, I lose data connection all the time and nothing I seem to do fixes the problem. It just comes back on its own. Someone please help.

What was the solution (I don't see it above)? Not trying to be mean or anything, but whatever solved the issue could help others that find themselves in a similar situation.

I gave the following steps to budone after ensuring all the settings were good in the switch:
1. Open Dial Pad - Dial: ##778 Send
2. Select: EPST Edit mode, Password: 000000
3. Select: Modem Settings
4. Select and modify Rev. A to ENABLED
5. Touch "Menu" and select "Commit Modifications"
6. The device will reset in 10 seconds.
Data Connection SHOULD return
While this likely would have been solved by a master reset, it's nice to avoid the tedious process whenever you can. I hope this helps someone else out too.

FYI, if you use the app, Call Confirm, you will have to disable the program before doing the above steps.

VERY FRUSTRATED!!!! I have tried this fix
1. Open Dial Pad - Dial: ##778 Send
for no data connection and when I hit send I get an auto reply that my call can't be completed as dialed. I am paying large dollars and my data plan is not worth {word filter avoidance} I can't connect to anything any more I can't get my email to download I can make calls and get text messages but that is is what good is a SMART phone that isn't SMART!!!!! I have had my phone since July and I am about ready to march back to the Verizon store and demand my money back and a new phone. Not Android. The phone I have is a LG Revolution just in case anyone is considering one.

Tigger33, the #778 menu ONLY works for the HTC Thunderbolt. It WILL NOT work on a LG Revolution or any other phone not made by HTC.

Just a thought, but maybe you should try the LG Revolution forum instead of the HTC Thunderbolt forum.

Do you know if there's a fix for no data for the HTC Trophy Windows Phone? The below didn't work for me as the choices weren't the same.
1. Open Dial Pad - Dial: ##778 Send
2. Select: EPST Edit mode, Password: 000000
3. Select: Modem Settings
4. Select and modify Rev. A to ENABLED
5. Touch "Menu" and select "Commit Modifications"
6. The device will reset in 10 seconds.
Data Connection SHOULD return
Thanks!

Ah okay just realized I was under the Android community. Was just going off the HTC part. The ##778 did bring up a menu but it was different.

I thought I had finally found the cure for my LG Ally phone's problem!!! But no - this doesn't work, as when I dial what you have, I get that it is not a number. Oh well - back to the drawing board.

Thanks a million times over to MikeS_VZW for this fix!! I was losing my mind restarting my phone and messing with network settings. You saved my sanity, and a trip to the Verizon store! You rawk, and so does my Thunderbolt!!

I have tried everything. I tried taking the battery out like 10 times. I even tried the instructions you gave. It said no changes where made and nothing happen, I live in Cleveland,Ohio 44105.. Is there a service issue. I looked at my friends phone and he has the G in the corner. I am thinking there is a server issue. Can you verify, so I do not flip out..

Thanks to the community for your responses. Are you still having issues with your data? Since you’ve taken many steps to resolve your issue please PM me your name and number and I can see what other options we have for you. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Tried your suggestion but I get "You have reached a non working number".
Today I got "No Data Connection" and everything I try doesn't work.
Any suggestions?

The ##778 number will only work for the HTC Thunderbolt and will not work for the Motorola DROID Razr listed in your profile. That is why you got a non-working number message.

Well, Verizon sent me a replacement Thunderbolt and the tech told me to go to the store and get a new SIM card. The store would NOT give me a replacement SIM card and the replacement phone has a "blown?" earpiece speaker. So, I just shipped back my original phone and my second replacement has arrived today. See how it works when I get my hands on it. Replacement #1 still lost data connection too. By far, the worst phone I have ever owned from Verizon and I have been getting phones since 1997.
