We received a warranty replacement Rezound about 2 weeks ago but it has yet to receive the OTA update to 2.01.605.11 -- not that I really want it given the bugs . But I was just wondering if it should have received the update or if the update had been recalled or something? We live in a solid 3G coverage area and travel frequently to 4G areas so it shouldn't be a coverage issue. I have also tried manually checking for update when on 3G, 4G, and WiFi with no luck. It says searching for update and then the screen just disappears after 5 - 20 seconds. I've done the battery pull several times and also did do a factory reset before it was configured the first time. Any other thoughts?
I (supposedly) have a new Rezound that I just received a couple of weeks ago. Mine does the EXACT same thing. It says searching then the screen goes back to the menu. My Incredible 2 would say that I have the latest update or there is no new update available.
My Rezound is on version 1.02.605.6.
Maybe we should be fortunate that we don't have the most recent update. However, I am concerned that we will not be able to update when the next update comes along and according to the intermet, it should be coming pretty soon and it is a good one.
Honestly, if you are not having any issues with the phone, you may want to wait for the next update. There was a leak recently that, by all accounts I've seen is fairly stable and, hopefully, will be released soon.
I'm sorry your having trouble getting the software updated. The device should be able to update to 2.01.605.11. Since you have already pulled the battery and checked for the update, I would recommend a hard reset.

After the reset please check for new software.

Mine is doing the same thing. I have a replacement Rezound sent from verizon and it will not update. Tried pulling the battery and doing a hard reset while on the phone with Tech services of verizon. They then called HTC and they stated that my phone will be updated when my build number is in the batches when the updates are sent out.
Thanks for the replies JoeL and others. I would be glad to do a factory reset---except I already did one the day we received the device, March 3rd or 4th, before configuring and installing any apps. I assume that would cover it since the update was already available then. But any thoughts are welcome...
I may just wait for the ICS upgrade and reset again at the point if it doesn't receive it...
i had the same problem, and it was actually a good thing since the update, for lack of better term, blows! hard resets and new SIMS still didnt initiate the update. Eventually, I got a replacement which was prompted with the update immediately after activation. I hate this update, but I am guessing the phone needs to be up to date to receive the eventual 4.0.3 software. Eventhough Ive already installed the leaked 4.0.3, still would want the official if its ever released.
