Thunderbolt selecting apps, letters, and texts by itself

So I just got a "REFURBISHED" HTC Thunderbolt not even 2 weeks ago. It is now selecting stuff on its own. Opening up apps, texting people etc all on its on. I have done a factory reset and can't even do the setup on it because it keeps selecting different languages and letters when I am trying to type my information in. Has this happened to anyone else? It is really starting to make me SUPER mad!

I woke up with my radio turned off this morning. Touchscreen goes out at times. I have never had a problem with my handsets until I started using android. I like it, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it doesn't work.
