I have the HTC Thunderbolt and when I am prompted to install the VZ Mobile Drivers my computer freezes or the install fails because drive ADB can not be found. I am running Windows 7 32 bit. If I want to us Verizon Backup Assistant I need these drivers installed. Does anyone have a fix for this problem.,.

Did you try just installing the HTC drivers at
http://www.htc.com/us/support/thunderbolt-verizon/downloads/
I am also running windows 7 (professional) 32 bit and have experienced no freezes. I did have to reload these drivers after I updated to IE9 though ( It wouldn't recognize the SD card for access) . I didn't have to load any special drivers to enable backup assistant and it is running and syncing according to the setting accounts & sync. I've been dismissing the windows popup for VZ drivers when I connect my device to my PC. Aren't those drivers for the Vcast app?
Oh well see if loading those linked drivers clears up your problem, If not don't hesitate to call 611 for technical assistance. they will help you get a resolution if you still need one.

There is no need to install drivers when you connect your Thunderbolt to your computer. When you connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable you should select Mount as Disk Drive from drop down menu. This will allow you to transfer media and data back and forth between your phone and PC. When you plug the device to the computer, your computer will show that new hardware has been detected. You should decline and close out of the box. I would like to also thank RobB772 for providing assistance.
Backup Assistance should be accessed by your phone and online at https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/ba_nab/overview_def.jsp
