Hi Verizon,
What is the release date for the ICS update for the HTC Rezound? I would think if you still cannot give us a release date then you are a long way from releasing it, right? There is only 8 days left in July. We have all been waiting since January and have been let down many times. Other devices with the same exact hardware have the update since a couple months ago..
Please let us know. There are MANY people who are expecting this update that you promised us a long time ago. HTC shut down the support forum for the rezound. Verizon hides the Rezound support forum . This is not cool.
Also, I had to get a new Rezound after mine was dropped and broke. When I click "check for updates" it seems to check but then the dialog box disappears. In my other one it would tell me if an update was found and if not... ie:"No update available at this time".
I do not know if the January update is installed in my new Rezound or not. It does not offer to install it. Are new Rezounds being sold with the update installed? Should my phone check for updates and then just close the update check with no message?
Thanks in advance for getting back to me,
-Jamie
I also would like the same question answered by Verizon. They use to have the number one customer service but now it sucks. They better wake soon before they lose very good customer base. I'm sure someone has the answer at Verizon but they refuse to share it with the customers that have made them as big as they are. How very stupid and now we know how important we really are.

The ridiculous part aside from the absurd wait, is that the Droid Incredible 4g LTE is running not only ICS but Sense 4.0, which HTC or Verizon (depending on who's pointing the finger) says they can't do on the Rezound. What a load of crap!!! How is the Incredible 4G LTE capable of running software that we can't have. It is all based on profit, isn't that right Big Red?!?!
In response to your checking for update question:
Is it doing it on wifi as well?
In 4G or 3G areas?
Did you power cycle the phone, pull the battery (soft reset)?
The word is it is because of the processor. GPU aside, the rezound has a Qualcomm (some random numbers) processor, while the incredible has a snapdragon s4.
From my research it has to do with the lack of a coprocessor. I would have to research it, but snapdragon is far more common a chip comparatively.
just found out, rezound is s3 and other is s4, both snapdragon.
Verizon WILL NOT answer this question, they NEVER announce updates before they push. If we are lucky, we will get an announcement the day the OTA starts. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's the way it is.
Unknown.
Next question, What do you think ICS will ADD to your phone that you are so worked up
Third question, if ICS isn't so great why does VZW advertise it like they do?
Oh, wait, cause the operating system your android device runs is MARKETABLE! Maybe moreso than the hardware that device is running.
Rezound users may not get the ICS update. Why would Verizon make their "old" device feel new with a new OS when they could just sell them a new device with that shiney new OS?
Outdated by Verizon for lack of software upgrades. What a shame.

What difference does it make for Verizon to care what OS version a phone has. They make money off of services, not the devices...
I agree, some information would go a long way. As for why I would like to have ICS? Well, it's nice to have the latest and greatest and I'd like to try out Google Chrome on this really great phone. I'm locked in to a 2 year contract, so I'm not going to drop $600 just to use ICS. It would be benificial for VZW to keep their customers happy, but I bet 90% don't know what an operating system is.
