Aaaaaaaaand the price keeps falling :smileysurprised:

Amazon.com: HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless): Cell Phones & Accessories

It ain't Droid X cheap (it's free on contract), but still the cheapest I've seen it! :smileyvery-happy:

you can return it (you have 3 days to return without a $35 restocking fee)....but this deal isn't through verizon. you have to buy through amazon (or whoever it's through).

Probably because Amazon has a second contract you have to sign that has a separate etf.

There is a separate Amazon ETF on top of the Verizon one:

http://wireless.amazon.com/help/200308000/ref=edppaglet_hp_dp?applicationLayoutId=2

AmazonWireless Instant Discount Policy

When you purchase your device with service from AmazonWireless.com, we automatically pass along an instant discount from the carrier to you.  This discount has been provided to you based on your agreement to (a) activate a new, or extend an existing, line of service for this device with the carrier, and (b) maintain this service in good standing for a minimum of 181 consecutive days.  If you do not activate or extend a line of service in connection with this device, or if your service is canceled/disconnected before 181 consecutive days, AmazonWireless.com will charge you $250 per device, plus applicable taxes.

This is why I passed on this and just went straight to Verizon. :smileyhappy:

Sure, but why even buy a new phone in the first place if you're gonna cancel within 6 months?

It makes no sense to pay $125 now because of the unlikely possiblity of having to repay that later.

Deal is great.

It depends whether you want to be locked into a contract or not. Some prefer to pay full price and stay month to month or like I've typically done in the past, choose only a 1 year contract instead of the standard 2. The initial phone cost is a little more, but you're not locked into a long contract. It's more about keeping some freedom of choice, keeping your options open and minimizing early termination fee issues. In that case, would you want an extra contract through a third party, just to save some money up front? I certainly don't. But everyone has to do what is most comfortable for and matches their needs.
