It is bad enough when we spend so much money buying phones and the cost of service each month to have way less than control of our stock phones.
There are many forums mentioning that The HTC comes with many app that you might not use some always run some you just don't want on your phone. This is one problem.
These apps cannot be uninstalled. Which because of their privacy agreement is not horrible, it is bad however.
Here is where it get downright terrible. Some of these apps like Tune Wiki and Slacker radio contain ads. These ad have the potential to leak location info and collect device or mobile info. I this becuase of Lookout Mobile's Ad Network Detector. After running a scan you can see that many apps contain potentially dangerous ads inside them.
TuneWiki contains
-Cauly
-Admob
-MoPub
-Millennial
Slacker Radio
-Admob
-Millennial
Having the app itself might not be so dangerous unless it gets hacked because they will be held accountable due to privacy agreements. The advertisements inside them how ever could leak the data with less worry because they do not have to follow the same rules as the app.
Verizon should allow the removal of at least these two apps. Rhapsody would also be nice because it always runs at start up even if you have never used it.
