Let me get this right. You buy a brand new phone with known issues (eg, battery drain when in 4G) and then you complain about said known issues? :smileymad: No. You either buy the phone and accept the know issues and work around them, or you don't buy the phone. Do your research first.

Is it true that you can't use the Thunderbolt while it's charging?

If it is charging you can use the phone, just if you want to use the kickstand you have to place the phone vertical since sideways gets in the way of the charging port.. i put it on the edge of some books when i want to watch it sideways while charging.. pretty poor deisgn, i would prefer if the charging port was on the top or bottom of the phone :smileysad:

Guessing they moved it from the bottom because of the issues they had with the ports breaking on the Evo.  That and so they could con people into salivating over a dock that they haven't even released yet.  It really isn't all that stable in portrait with it plugged in contrary to what HTC may want everyone to think.  Thinking I'll just get me a right angle microusb charger which should help with it in landscape.

the side port makes the most sense. accessories for these things are big business and who want to dock it at home OR in a car in portrait mode? to me it makes the most sense anyhow. "if" i wanted a true car mount or home dock, i would want it to dock landscape (see motorolas....which already have nice and true docks).

Truths About the TB

Poor battery life

Bonehead Kickstand placement

No case for the essential extended battery

Customer Service is still unsure how to fix TB issues "New Device"

Verizon's 4G Data Plan and the TB are currently the industry standard

Verizon is very good about returning products within warranty, you should call *611 and talk to a actual corporate Verizon CSR. According to Verizon's policy, you can make an exchange for any reason with 14 days. This definitely applies to manufacturing errors, as well as it not meeting expectations. You are holding a $700 piece of equipment in your hands, make sure it performs as it was designed. Good luck.

I don't keep a phone long enough to make the docks worth the money so it's just a waste since it's not transferable to another device.  Also the Fascinate has landscape dock with a usb port on the top.  And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first HTC with a kickstand and a charging port not on the top or bottom.

yeah...i don't get them either...but if i did, i would want it to dock sideways and just plug right into the plug. i actually found a dock online last year for a diffent model (but i think it was still an htc) that i found pretty cool. the device (with a side port) could slide into it in portrait mode, plugging into the side of the phone....but the dock was designed to turn on it's side for landscape mode. i thought it was perfect so i'd check back on the site from time to time to see if they would ever design one for the incredible, but they never did. i thought they would because if i recall, the port for the phone it was made for was just slightly higher than the port on th inc. all they would have had to do was take the mold and move the hole (that the micro usb snapped into) about a quarter inch lower and it would've fit the inc. but no dice.
