In so many ways verizon and HTC are being corporate monsters who don't care to tick off its customers any longer, and this needs to end. I hope everybody will read this and help towards stopping verizons corrupt practices, please post your horror stories and maybe verizon will attempt to satisfy its customers for once.
Verizon went from making sure a customer was happy 2-3 years ago to do everything they can to screw the customer over out of money, this has to stop!FAIL
You won't take back and replace your garbage thunderbolt battery that doesn't last 2 hours, even if charging port is bad, and sensitivity is uncontrollable..FAIL
You want to charge me for a new extended battery.{please keep your posts courteous}
You don't make cases for extended battery. FAIL
You want to charge me a restocking fee to return a broken thunderbolt because it's expected that the charging port goes bad with a day of use.FAIL
You won't even return the TB phone that has had issues even within first 14 days.(Greg rios manager at verizon in tricounty - major {please keep your posts courteous}) FAIL
You advertised mobile to mobile video chat through skype... which isn't even available yet. FAIL
You held the release date back over a month and didn't say why.(cough apple products... return policy.. Scandal){please keep your posts courteous}
Android 2.3 exist... You give us 2.2 and don't have courtesy to say expected release date. FAIL
You make me download apps to fix a 270 dollar phone + 2 year contract( why not give it to us right? Is that too much to ask for?) {please keep your posts courteous}
You make me buy screen covers because You don't allow a sensitivity control option.( I don't even touch the screen and buttons are pushed somehow, my check away from the phone is enough to end the call and dial someone else) {please keep your posts courteous}>> YOU FAIL.
You put the charging port on the same side as the kickstand...(who wants to watch a TV screen sideways?) FAIL.
Cincinnati bell wireless gets signal at University of Cincinnati where You don't. Another FAIL
You can't use thunderbolt while on charger.
Thunderbolt dies faster than it can charge and uses 1% of battery life every time You view a picture
Umm verizon wireless... PLEASE FIX THIS GARBAGE. YOUR CUSTOMERS AREN't HAPPY AND HAVE HAD IT WITH YOUR **bleep**!
YOU DON"T GIVE UPDATES ON SKYPE APPS, 2.3, BATTERY LIFE SUGGESTIONS. YOU IGNORE THE PROBLEMS AND WAIT FOR CUSTOMERS TO GET SO TICKED OFF THEY HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING... FIX THIS {word filter avoidance} GARBAGE! OR I"M SWITCHING CARRIERS/ HELPING START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!(and I've got the money to do this)

Still rocking my HTC DROID Eris 16 months and counting.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I think the mods missed a word in the rant....
You know, there are things that I am unhappy about with the TB, but for the most part, I chalk them up to the fact that it is a newly introduced device with bugs that will probably be fixed over time. I don't lose control like that guy did and bring up every little failure and then threaten the traditional lawsuit. Kind of silly if you ask me to threaten a lawsuit that probably won't work and would only make some sleazy trial lawyers rich if it did.
I also have trouble believing the line about not accepting a return for a broken phone. There almost has to be more to the story than that. What did you do? Rip the charging cable out of the port and break it?
If you don't like the phone or the service, then switch carriers. See if you get anything better from AT&T or Sprint.

Or maybe he should switch to his favorite carrier Cincinnati Bell Wireless since they have such good coverage. LOL

Wow this is a prime case of delusional over-entitled-ism. I wonder if you went in the store with this attitude. You're highly unlikely to receive very good customer service if you act like a {please keep your posts courteous}
.
I also find it fishy that they aren't accepting a return within the first 14 days. There's gotta be more to it than a simple return.
As for the updates and ETAs, you gotta realize just because Google released 2.3, doesn't make you entitled to it and HTC certainly doesn't owe you anything. The phone was advertised as having FroYo, which it does. Don't like? Don't buy. Whining about how they don't have the courtesy to tell you when the 2.3 update rolls out is just amusing.
Take your QQ to Cincinnati Bell. I'm sure you'll get better service... along with their two other customers.

I don't think you used the word "fail" enough. You sound like a teenager, and you act like one. I personally have had nothing but excellent customer service from Verizon. I also don't go into the Verizon stores or call them kicking and screaming and throwing a fit like you are. Act like an adult and you will get treated like one. Maybe learn some respect for people and stop complaining and learn to deal with situations in a better manner and you'll be respected back. Just maybe.

You have a brand new device on a brand new network, minor problems are going to happen..
Have you tried to bump charge the battery? turn off wifi/bluetooth, change screen brightness off. Download juice defender and set up a proper profile.
HTC put the same battery in this phone as the incredible, maybe go troll their forums..
If the charging port is bad you can take it to the store and replace it, there has to be something you are leaving out of that story.
Of course you get charged for an extended battery, it is an accessory's
If you return the thunderbolt you get charged a restocking fee, if your replace it you wont.
Skypeisn't out yet, but tango works just as well
Pushed a month for battery life and lte network, nothing to do with apple..
gingerbread won't add much of anything to the thunderbolt, but yah okey maybe that is the one point you had
VZW can't have coverage everywhere, it is regulated by the FCC.. if you can't get coverage you can't get coverage.
class action lawsuit.. for what? It sounds like you never had a droid before, go take 45 mins and do some research

Let me get this right. You buy a brand new phone with known issues (eg, battery drain when in 4G) and then you complain about said known issues? No. You either buy the phone and accept the know issues and work around them, or you don't buy the phone. Do your research first.

If it is charging you can use the phone, just if you want to use the kickstand you have to place the phone vertical since sideways gets in the way of the charging port.. i put it on the edge of some books when i want to watch it sideways while charging.. pretty poor deisgn, i would prefer if the charging port was on the top or bottom of the phone

Guessing they moved it from the bottom because of the issues they had with the ports breaking on the Evo. That and so they could con people into salivating over a dock that they haven't even released yet. It really isn't all that stable in portrait with it plugged in contrary to what HTC may want everyone to think. Thinking I'll just get me a right angle microusb charger which should help with it in landscape.

the side port makes the most sense. accessories for these things are big business and who want to dock it at home OR in a car in portrait mode? to me it makes the most sense anyhow. "if" i wanted a true car mount or home dock, i would want it to dock landscape (see motorolas....which already have nice and true docks).

I don't keep a phone long enough to make the docks worth the money so it's just a waste since it's not transferable to another device. Also the Fascinate has landscape dock with a usb port on the top. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first HTC with a kickstand and a charging port not on the top or bottom.

yeah...i don't get them either...but if i did, i would want it to dock sideways and just plug right into the plug. i actually found a dock online last year for a diffent model (but i think it was still an htc) that i found pretty cool. the device (with a side port) could slide into it in portrait mode, plugging into the side of the phone....but the dock was designed to turn on it's side for landscape mode. i thought it was perfect so i'd check back on the site from time to time to see if they would ever design one for the incredible, but they never did. i thought they would because if i recall, the port for the phone it was made for was just slightly higher than the port on th inc. all they would have had to do was take the mold and move the hole (that the micro usb snapped into) about a quarter inch lower and it would've fit the inc. but no dice.

Truths About the TB
Poor battery life
Bonehead Kickstand placement
No case for the essential extended battery
Customer Service is still unsure how to fix TB issues "New Device"
Verizon's 4G Data Plan and the TB are currently the industry standard
Verizon is very good about returning products within warranty, you should call *611 and talk to a actual corporate Verizon CSR. According to Verizon's policy, you can make an exchange for any reason with 14 days. This definitely applies to manufacturing errors, as well as it not meeting expectations. You are holding a $700 piece of equipment in your hands, make sure it performs as it was designed. Good luck.
