charged while phone was supposed to be on suspension

My friend broke my phone a few months ago and I ended up taking over someone else's line on a different carrier because I didn't have a device for Verizon. I put the account on hold so that I could save to close it, but I just got a bill in the mail saying that I owe Verizon $400. I tried calling and waited for about half an hour to be told that I called the wrong number, so I called the right number and found that the office had closed. I tried calling the local store number, but was sent to the same automated system. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I used to like Verizon, but after this experience I'm not going to sign up for their services ever again and I will never recommend them to anyone else.

I'm sad to hear that you're no longer with us >.< I would like to help you get this resolved so you can reconsider our family in the future. If you temporarily suspend a line, we only provide options to suspend for 30days or three months. Once the suspension expires, you would have had to call us for additional options. A line can not stay on suspension indefinitely. We can look at the notes, account and bill but the monthly access would have to be paid after suspension or the early termination fee. I hope you're able to be back with our family soon.
