data factory reset

Question

If I do a data factory reset, will I loose the ringtone that I downloaded from the verizon media store?  It is located in the download folder of my sd card.

I understand I'll loose any apps that I've downloaded but what about any locked text messages?

With a factory data reset, you shouldn't lose anything on the SD card.  You WILL lose all text messages (probably even locked ones, I'm pretty sure that just means you can't delete them like normal texts without unlocking them first) but, there are SMS backup apps in the market, so you may want to look into that.
