I am trying to delete the Kindle app on my HTC Rhyme. I hold it down and move to the trashcan, but when I go back to my apps, it is still there. What am I doing wrong?

Dragging it to the trash can simply removes the shortcut from your home screen. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Open the Kindle app and you will see an option to uninstall.

Edit: Oh, wait, did Kindle come preinstalled? I don't have an option to uninstall that particular app on my phone. It might be bloatware, which means you can't remove it.
